Welcome to the Country Profiles of the CIPS Network. Here you will find narrative profiles of more than 50 country real estate markets. Each profile addresses the country’s real estate market situation, political environment, real estate practices, land rights/usage, foreign ownership rules (as information is available), and offers additional resources for in-depth research. As international market conditions can change rapidly, users of this information should note the publication date included in each profile as a guide to currency and accuracy of the information. For countries displaying this logo - , you will be directed to that country's Real Estate Business Practices page on the site of the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations (ICREA). This information is provided directly by the ICREA member associations.
Why this Information is Valuable to US Practitioners: The profiles have been written to assist both real estate practitioners who conduct business outside the US, and for the US practitioner doing business locally with immigrant communities and/or foreign investors. Understanding the cultural and business background from which these individuals come can greatly enhance your ability to successfully manage a transaction, and ultimately expand your network and range of potential clients.
Why this Information is Valuable to Non-US Practitioners: Although these profiles were researched and written from a US perspective, the information should be useful to any interested practitioner. For example, although a US profile is not included, readers will find some comparative information on the US marketplace contained within these documents, and efforts have been made to include some non-US references, e.g., metric equivalents. Readers with expertise in a specific country are invited to e-mail comments and/or suggested updates. To the extent you can note sources, we'll endeavor to address it within the profile. E-mail us at NARglobe@realtors.org and include your name and company contact information.
Regional Issues: Commentary on select regional issues is contained within these pages. Some regional issues may warrant long-term posting, while others will be added/deleted on a more timely basis according to the strength of their relevance.
Global Real Estate Project: An additional source for information on non-US markets is available at the Global Real Estate Project, developed by the University of Denver's Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management. Here you will find a vast catalog of information about individual countries and their real estate business practices. Together with the narrative profiles provided at the CIPS Network site, practitioners should be able to gain a fairly detailed picture of real estate markets around the world.
